Contributions from many helped secure back to back wins for a youthful Henley 4s side containing just 3 adults and the rest all aged 13 - 15 years against a near all adult Peppard Stoke Row side. On a lovely sunny afternoon at Nettlebed Recreation Ground captain, Chris Ellison, won the toss and elected the bat on what looked a true and firm wicket. His decision was justified as opening the batting with Raiph Surplice, Henley raced to 50 inside 10 overs. Surplice was the first to fall LBW for 12. Captain Ellison soon followed unfortunate to be run out at the non strikers end for 49. Jethro Kock struck the ball beautifully including a six and 2 x fours looking well set but again failed to capitalise on a promising start falling for 21. Joshua Ellison couldn't find any rhythm with his batting and was bowled soon after. A rebuild was required which came from Noah Perrone (21) and Andy Chinn (31). Whilst slow to get going this partnership provided a platform for acceleration which arrived via debutant 14 year old Arjun Kothari. Striking the ball to all parts with positive intent and aggression Arjun added much needed momentum with 26 runs off just 14 balls. Henley 4s finished on 207 helped also by 2 lots of 5 penalty runs for the ball striking the fielding helmet!!

In reply, PSR got off to a great start until a smart catch by Raiph Surplice off the bowling of Chinn broke the opening partnership. Young Harry Ellison with a fine opening spell of 4 overs for just 13 runs helped keep a lid on the run rate. However, PSR captain George Lee set about the youthful Henley bowling in a strong partnership for the 2nd wicket of 65. This was broken by the Ellison father / son combination leading to a well worked run out leading into drinks break. However, PSR were well set at this stage needing just over 100 runs to win from 20 overs with 8 wickets in hand. Joshua Ellison finished his tidy spell of 8 overs with a wicket. Joshua also took a smart catch in the covers to give the Henley side a lift. What took place thereafter was the Rosie Mills show! With excellent control Rosie picked up 4 wickets in her second spell with excellent control of line and length. This included a smart stumping from 15 year old wicket keeper, Perrone. Debutant, Kothari entered the bowling attack with an excellent caught and bowled off his first ball!! PSR finishing well short in the end on 161.

An excellent win for Henley 4s highlighted by the number of contributions from across the team but player of the match for her spell of 4 wickets was Rosie Mills.
