Henley 3rd XI welcomed high-flying Slough to Nettlebad and, after winning the toss, chose to bat first. The decision looked shaky early on as the top order crumbled—Snook, the Price brothers, and the Atwal father and son combination all fell cheaply, leaving the hosts reeling at 38-5.
At this crisis point, Garfarth-Nebbit and Ram began the rescue mission. Their patient rebuilding steadied the innings, with Garfarth-Nebbit (39) and Ram (18) until 2 quick wickets brought Hanna and Vyas together with Henley 112-8. Vyas and Hannah then produced the partnership of the day for Henley —a superb 68-run stand—which lifted Henley to a far more competitive 181 all out in 38.5 overs.
Slough’s bowling honours went to Zafar (4-14), Prasada (3-25), and Sharma (3-36).
The visitors got off to a flyer with openers Pande and Baig putting on 81 for the first wicket. However, Henley hit back hard with a burst of four wickets for just 24 runs, courtesy of Snook and Garforth-Nebbit, reducing Slough to 105-4.
Singh’s measured innings helped Slough recover, but Henley kept chipping away. With the game in the balance, Slough eventually crossed the line in 36.5 overs, sealing a tense victory.
Henley’s attack worked tirelessly with Snook 2-48, Garforth-Nebbett 3-34, Nebbit 2-25
A spirited Henley fightback with both bat and ball made for a thrilling contest. The lower-order batting partnerships were crucial in setting a defendable target, and the bowling unit kept a strong Slough side under pressure right until the final overs.
