Amersham won the toss and elected to bowl on a sweltering day at Henley. Openers Hilditch and Hunt made an excellent start adding 95 for the first wicket both passing 50. Henley continued to make steady progress through the innings as Amersham spinners Payne, Amjaid and Madhuka kept things tight and chipped away at wickets. At 220-5 with 8 overs remaining Henley appeared well set, however a flurry of late wickets saw them make 255 which was slight under par on a good wicket and with short boundaries.
In reply Amersham made a blistering start scoring 40 off the first 4 overs, the introduction of Wellings slowed the rate but after 12 overs they had reached 87-2. However that was the last breakthrough of the day as the Henley bowlers toiled in the heat with Payne (85 not out) and Choksi (114 not out) combining for the highest partnership of the day putting on 172. Amersham cruising home in just 42 overs
