A nail biting win for the u13s vs Oxford cc.
Oxford won the toss and elected to field first. Henley started briskly with Annabel and Rosie playing well and hitting some nice boundaries. Saee and Eloise and Frascesca and Catherine were the next pairs who saw off some tricky bowling and didn’t lose any wickets. Our final pair were India and Ava who also defended well and gained some useful runs. It shows how far the girls have improved this season with so few wickets falling.
Next it was Oxford to bat. Henley started bowling well with Catherine and Annabel both taking wickets and bowling tightly despite the attacking play from Oxford. Although Oxford scored briskly, wickets fell regularly. Saee, Francesca and Ava with two each bowled especially well. It all came down to the final over with Rosie bowling and Oxford needing 10 to win. They continued to score and needed 4 off the last ball. However, Rosie held her nerve and with the last ball, produced a fantastic delivery hitting the stumps and helping Henley win the game.
