This page is designed to advise all playing and non-playing members, social members, VPs, parents of juniors and colts, plus friends and supporters of the Club, of our programme of fundraising social events in the coming year. | Wednesday, May 14th – “The 2008 Annual Golf Day”

.. HENLEY GOLF CLUB ANNUAL GOLF DAY 2008
At 9.00 am on Wednesday, May 14th a hooter sounded and 20 teams of four players set off on our fourth, annual, fundraising Golf Day. This year the event switched venue to Badgemore Park Golf Club which proved both an excellent move, if a somewhat challenging test due to the lushness of the rough combined with some very tight fairways. A large number of the complimentary balls were left scattered around the course in testimony to the severity of the rough. The scoring, in this team and individual stableford competition, bore further witness to the tough test the course presented, but with two notable exceptions, for our overall individual winner, club treasurer Andrew [AJ] Johnson returned a superb 41 points and the winning team, Team Mikado captained by Toby Winter, an outstanding 108 points.
Other results featured Bjorn Mordt as runner-up in the individual competition with 37 points; The Bird in Hand Team were second in the team competition with 105 points, just pipping Team Ecocleen after a count back.
The Day raised just under £5,000 towards the Ground Purchase loan fund and this was helped significantly by an auction that raised over £1,000.

| Saturday, July 19th – “Marquee Summer Ball”

Once again we will be holding this five star event in a beautiful marquee on the Henley Regatta Lawns.A Champagne reception with delicious canapés, a three course plated dinner including wine, live music to dance to and all at one of the most stunning and romantic settings one can imagine. At £70 per head this has to be one of the bargains of the social year.

| Friday, October 3rd – The annual “Sportsman’s Dinner”
|
Tobe held at Phyllis Court with guest speaker BBC rugby correspondent Ian Robertson who will also act as the evening’s auctioneer. This annual, black tie, event is the main fundraising event of the year, so please lend your support.
